BarcelonaSecond arrest in a few hours for Blocus in Catalonia. The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 17-year-old boy for organizing and coordinating the acts of vandalism that took place in Barcelona last Saturday. Specifically, he is accused of having an active role in an instant messaging channel that was used to organize the riots.
According to the investigation by the Mossos, the minor distributed the access link to the Telegram group and participated actively in the conversations, providing instructions on the equipment that needed to be brought, measures to avoid police detection, and self-protection guidelines. At the same time, according to the Mossos, he allegedly incited other participants to take part in violent actions and proposed possible targets for looting.
The arrest was carried out tonight in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. This Thursday, the Catalan police also arrested a minor in the Lleida area for creating groups and inciting a new mobilization this Saturday in the capital of Segrià, although in his case he was inciting a protest for this Saturday and it had not yet occurred. Beyond the arrests made in situ on the day of the riots, the one in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia is the first arrest of an alleged organizer of the Barcelona lootings.
