As a result of this alliance, BBVA became in February the first bank in Spain to promote the adoption of AI among small and medium-sized enterprises. The initiative has been very well received and more than 12,000 companies have already joined the ChatGPT Business program, which includes two ChatGPT licenses and specialized training content.

This collaboration, unprecedented in the financial sector, promotes a more productive and efficient operating model for SMEs, with AI as a transformation lever. Given the success of the initiative, BBVA has extended its promotion until December 31, 2026, and has reinforced the space with new training materials and practical resources so that companies can incorporate artificial intelligence into their daily activities.

The two ChatGPT Business licenses offered by BBVA are valid for one year and are aimed at both current and new clients. The objective is for companies to experiment with this technology, understand what real impact it can have on their activity, and use it to automate tasks, improve efficiency, gain agility, and dedicate more time to activities with higher added value.

"SMEs need a partner who helps them incorporate AI into their day-to-day in a practical and safe way. This technology accelerates the talent and competitiveness of all companies, which is why it is necessary to start working with it as soon as possible to take advantage of all present and future business opportunities," explains José Luis Serrano, head of SMEs at BBVA in Spain.

High-value tools

The proposal includes the AI portal for SMEs, which allows learning to use artificial intelligence in a simple way, adapted to the real needs of each business. One of these possible needs is to enter new markets to grow. In this case, to boost the internationalization of SMEs, BBVA incorporates another specific solution that, through AI, allows identifying potential buyers abroad and facilitating commercial contact in an automated way. Thus, companies can dedicate more effort to opening new markets and consolidating exports.

These tools are part of the bank's support for entrepreneurship, from the beginnings to the consolidation of the SME. As was evident in the meeting held at ARA and published in the newspaper on July 25th.
