Bolaños, Torres and García appear in Congress amid crisis over CNI reports in Ceuta

The appearances of the Sánchez government continue to explain the management of the crisis in Ceuta. This Thursday, the Minister of Justice, Félix Bolaños, will speak in Congress amid the major controversy that has pitted Margarita Robles, Minister of Defense, and Fernando Grande-Marlaska, Minister of the Interior, against each other over whether or not the CNI warned of the massive arrival of immigrants in the autonomous city. Later it will be the turn of the Minister of Health, Mónica García, and the Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, who is in charge of the unified command that manages the migratory crisis.

This same Thursday, former Spanish Prime Minister José María Aznar visits Ceuta and meets with Juan Vivas, president of the autonomous city. Both are scheduled to participate in an institutional event and give speeches. FAES, the private foundation led by Aznar, has already strongly criticized Sánchez for his "inability" to manage the crisis and for not foreseeing the "pull effect" that the Supreme Court ruling prohibiting pushbacks represented. For his part, Minister Torres has questioned the necessity of this visit and the role Aznar might play, urging him "not to generate more conflict".

The Minister of Territorial Policy will account for his role in managing the crisis in Ceuta with the aim of strengthening coordination between the authorities and administrations involved, both from the central government and the autonomous government. He will do so in the extraordinary session before the Joint Committee on National Security of Congress, where on Wednesday he already appeared Margarita Robles. In addition, it is also planned to explain the available resources and facilities to face the crisis.
