Pedro Sánchez will appear in Congress to explain the management of the Ceuta crisis. This has been confirmed by Ángel Víctor Torres, Minister of Territorial Policy of the Spanish government, in an interview on Cadena SER. This Wednesday morning, the Spanish government will register the president's request to appear before the chamber and will thus respond to a demand that had been coming from various political groups for days. Sánchez's appearance does not yet have a date: it will be decided by the chamber's steering committee once the official request has been registered.

Ángel Víctor Torres also supported the version of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, after the clash that occurred yesterday between him and the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles. The two ministers got entangled about the CNI's role in the migratory crisis and about whether or not it had informed the Interior Ministry and the Delegation of a massive arrival of people in Ceuta.

The Minister of Territorial Policy defended Marlaska's statements and assured that there was evidence of an increase in immigrant entries into Ceuta, but no information about the arrival of tens of thousands of people: "The situation is reported every day. There had been an increase of about 1,000 people in seven days, in no case of the arrival that occurred," he explained, and assured that the response of the Minister of the Interior had been "clear." "If we had had evidence of it, the action would have been different automatically," he explained.

Almost a month after the entry into Ceuta, neither the Spanish government nor the autonomous city knows how many immigrants or how many minors remain unidentified. At present, there are 1,400 registered minors, a figure that is expected to be higher. Torres highlighted the importance of respecting legality and acknowledged that there are also no definitive data on asylum or expulsion proceedings. He referred to his appearance tomorrow in Congress to explain this information.
