BarcelonaRosalía has been recognized with the National Award for Contemporary Music granted by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, endowed with 30,000 euros. According to the jury, the award for the artist from Sant Esteve Sesrovires is “for the artistic transcendence of the album Lux (2025), an ambitious, innovative and transformative musical proposal, which raises creative limits and has achieved the unanimous recognition of critics and the public”. The jury also considers that Lux consolidates "a trajectory of international scope characterized by research, risk and creative evolution through the search for its own sonic language that transcends genres, styles and eras, and which reflects an enormous capacity to combine avant-garde and heritage".

The release of Lux in November 2025 led to quite an interesting cultural debate, something that had not happened with an album for a long time. In addition to studies on the marketing strategies that accompanied the launch of the album, there were above all musical, artistic and literary analyses (even linguistic ones due to the use of thirteen languages); there were some with a pop perspective and others from a strictly musicological field. Although it is apparently a very different album from Rosalía's previous works, Lux is coherent with the philosophy of transformation that the author of El mal querer has turned into a hallmark. Hyper-sonority, in which the sound is maximalist by nature, appears as a background landscape in songs that squeeze the sonority of the orchestral string section and accelerate it synthetically, and in which the voice has more prominence than ever, and fewer filters than ever.

When in March the tour began in Lyon, the praise for Lux multiplied. The staging, especially in the first block of the show, has turned Rosalía's 2026 concerts into one of the most interesting and artistically successful spectacles of recent years.
