BarcelonaIt's been a big week for Barça. After a scandalous thrashing of Bayern Munich (7-1) in the debut of the new Champions League format, Pere Romeu's team has once again devoured a rival with goals in their return to the F1 League. Atlético de Madrid, second in the League - now seven points behind the Blues - have been severely beaten (0-6) by the Catalans.

The mattresses' game plan was shattered from the start. Brugts, who had a fantastic performance from left back and who wasn't named MVP because of a brilliant Alexia, opened the scoring in the second minute. The home side's fear was already setting in, but they didn't lose face in the match, although this Barça team is unstoppable and Patri scored the second shortly before halftime after a brilliant touch from Aitana Bonmatí. Gio had the clearest chance for the home side, which Cata finished off in a one-on-one.

After the restart, Atlético de Madrid, who had always been trailing Barça, made a fool of themselves, and Pere Romeu's team ran over them. The Barça's burst of energy created a massive gap in performance between the two teams on the Alcalá de Henares pitch. Ewa Pajor, who would end up leaving the match with a right knee injury and the extent of her injury remains to be seen, scored the third with a shot from the heart of the box after a pass from Aitana.

Shortly after the hour mark, Alexia scored the fourth with a shot from the left side, underscoring the Catalans' superiority. Goalkeeper Lola Gallardo had to clear the ball from the back of the net twice more. Vicky López, still in excellent form, completed the scoring with a free-kick, and in added time, Laia Aleixandri completed the rout, making her Barça scoring debut against her former team.
