Indra Group consolidates its position as one of the driving forces of talent, innovation, and economic development in Catalonia. The multinational technology company has 12 offices in Barcelona, Girona, Lérida, and Tarragona, where more than 3,500 professionals work on projects in artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, and other advanced technologies.
The company's expansion plans include the addition of between 800 and 1,000 new professionals in the coming years. Its objective is to strengthen its presence in strategic sectors of the Catalan economy, such as mobility, automotive, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, food, and public services. Industrial and academic alliances
The multinational technology company works with an ecosystem of 350 Catalan suppliers to guarantee advanced technological solutions and, thanks to this collaborative model, has signed agreements with Ficosa, a specialist in vehicle systems, and Sirt, a cybersecurity company, to strengthen its technological autonomy and promote defense projects. The collaboration with Ficosa focuses on electro-optical equipment for military vehicles, while with Sirt, multidisciplinary teams are being formed to develop cyber defense solutions and cyberspace training.
Aside from the industrial sector, the multinational maintains alliances with more than 15 Catalan universities and technology centers. Of particular note is its collaboration with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) on supercomputing, artificial intelligence, and dual-use civil and military quantum technologies projects, within the European NGWS (NGWS) program. From its offices in Barcelona, Indra leads key projects for Europe, such as the management of the ground infrastructure for the EGNOS and Galileo satellite navigation programs, which guarantee secure positioning for armed forces, emergency services, and the protection of critical infrastructure. In Catalonia, it has also implemented the T-mobility multimodal platform, which integrates more than 70 metro, bus, tram, and commuter rail operators into an integrated fare system, and has developed the facial recognition check-in and boarding system at El Prat Airport. In the healthcare sector, its subsidiary, Minsait, is developing the Úniques platform, which will connect hospitals across Spain to share information on rare pediatric diseases and reduce diagnosis times.
