BarcelonaThe Data Integration Center (CID) created due to the train accident in Urda, Toledo, has warned that some relatives of potential fatalities are receiving fake SMS messages and urges those who receive them to disregard them.
"It has come to our attention that relatives of potential fatalities of the Urda rail accident are receiving SMS messages in which the Civil Guard would supposedly inform about the identification of their relatives' bodies," the CID indicated this Thursday in a statement. "Given the falsehood of these messages, it is publicly communicated that the procedure for notifying families of the identification of the deceased is carried out in person and individually by the Civil Guard, and never by phone call," the document adds.
Given this situation, the authorities ask "those potentially affected not to grant veracity to the receipt of messages or phone calls" and remind that "the autopsy and identification tasks of the deceased people have continued uninterruptedly since yesterday with the maximum possible rigor and speed".
