Man arrested after killing a woman with a bladed weapon in Córdoba
The individual had barricaded himself in his house after the crime
BarcelonaNational Police agents have arrested a man who killed a woman with a knife in Córdoba. The individual was arrested at his home, where he had barricaded himself after committing the crime, according to police sources confirmed to the Efe agency.
Cadena Ser reports that the man was the victim's partner, who was under the VioGén surveillance system, and that the murder took place in a building entrance in the Córdoba neighborhood of La Fuensanta, around 9:00 AM.
Before barricading himself, the man flooded the building entrance with gas to prevent the entry of emergency services. Finally, it was the firefighters who managed to enter the home and, once inside, confirmed that the woman was dead from stab wounds.
This is the sixteenth misogynistic crime in Spain in 2026. Since 2003, when this data began to be collected, up to 1,359 women have been murdered.
