A fire forces some residents of La Noguera to stay indoors while firefighters extinguish the resurgence of the blaze in La Segarra.
In Solsonès, another fire originating in a power line has been stabilized.

BarcelonaAnother complicated day for the firefighters, with several fires raging simultaneously and in different locations. While they were trying to extinguish the resurgence of the blaze that devastated 472 hectares in Segarra on Saturday, two more fires broke out, one in Noguera, and the Solsonès residents are being evacuated by helicopters.
In Noguera, this Sunday afternoon, the Generalitat Firefighters requested the lockdown of the municipality of Plandogau and the isolated farmhouses in the area to prevent residents from being put at risk. A total area of 185 hectares has been covered, and they have reinforced the operation with 38 ground units after being forced to withdraw aerial fires due to the wind. The source of the fire is a high-voltage power line.
Another fire caused by a power line has affected 26.84 hectares of land, according to the provisional count by Rural Agents. In this case, the fire started in Torrefeta and Florejacs (Segarra) but spread toward Pinell de Solsonès. Once again, the wind forced the Fire Department to withdraw aerial resources, leaving them to work solely with ground crews. However, the fire was stabilized at 9:30 p.m.
Reignited fires in Segarra
All of this happened on the same afternoon that a sudden burst of strong winds caused a resurgence of the fire that broke out on Saturday in Granyena de Segarra due to a burning car, and which the firefighters had already brought under control by Sunday morning. This blaze has burned 472 hectares, mostly agricultural vegetation, but also forest and a small part of the urban area, with homes damaged. The fire was spreading again and was stopped before it crossed the A-2 motorway. Due to the resurgences, the firefighters asked the local population to self-isolate and restrict movement in the region. This blaze had already forced residents of Cervera, Granyena de Segarra, La Curullada, and Fonolleres to remain confined for hours on Saturday, and had also caused the closure of several roads. At this point, the fire has been stabilized again.
This Sunday, the fire that broke out on Saturday between Martorell and Sant Esteve Sesrovires, about 200 meters from the AP-7, was also completely extinguished. The fire did not affect the track at any time, but it forced the shutdown of the overhead lines and, therefore, the shutdown of the R4 commuter line to ensure the firefighters could work safely.
