BarcelonaThe government said on Sunday that this morning The commuter rail service would be gradually restoredBut nothing has gone as expected. Two technical incidents at the Adif command center They forced the service to be halted twice this morning, and shortly afterward, the executive, in a message to X, demanded "immediate solutions" from Adif and Renfe to resolve another day of chaos on the commuter rail network.

Thus, although yesterday, Sunday, both the Minister of Territory, Silvia Paneque, and the Secretary of State for Transport, José Antonio Santano, assured that they were working in coordination to resolve the problems of this past week on the commuter rail network, this Monday the Government has decided to point directly at Adif and Renfe as directly responsible for the chaos. "We demand immediate solutions from Adif and Renfe," reiterated the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, in a tweet to X.

The Catalan government is trying to shift the blame for the commuter rail chaos onto Renfe and Adif, thus defending the management of Minister Paneque. "The president is closing ranks with Minister Paneque. Now is the time to work on solutions," sources from the President's office stated. In other words, the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, is ruling out dismissing the Minister of Territory despite calls for her resignation from some parliamentary groups, including one of his investiture partners, Esquerra Republicana. The Republicans also demanded that the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, back down. Regarding this morning's commuter rail disruption, Puente asked for "patience" from users, although he admitted that these are "terrible" days for the Catalan rail service. He acknowledged that "it is very difficult" to ask for patience given that "it has been overwhelmed for a long time." Regarding the resumption of service this Monday, Puente explained that no hypothesis is being ruled out, including that of a "cyberattack." The minister, moreover, reiterated that the system The commuter rail system is "tremendously obsolete" He reiterated that they are investing "the maximum amount possible while maintaining service." He attributed the ongoing outages to the improvement works being carried out on the network.
