Trump, ready for the definitive insult
According to most forecasts, Donald Trump could lose the Republican majority in one of the two houses of the United States Congress this Tuesday, or both. It would be logical: the cost of living has skyrocketed and people directly relate the poor state of their pockets to bad presidential decisions, especially the war in Iran.
Trump knows it, but he doesn't give a damn. Not long ago he said that having more expensive gasoline was "a very small price to pay" in exchange for peace in the world. And at another rally he said: "I don't give a damn," because American oil companies were making "a real fortune."
Do you know how this will end? With Trump scolding Americans for their lack of patriotism and for having been unfaithful to him by voting for the Democrats. His people are the last thing he has left to insult. In fact, he already insulted them when he offered 5,000 dollars to every American if he retained the majority in Congress. He has deceived them with the Orwellian America first, because it did not mean Americans' problems first, but rather his interests and those of his friends first, that is to say, getting rich.
It is what any dictator would do: complain bitterly that the people are not up to the leader's level. Hitler did it in 1945 when, with the war lost, he ordered the destruction of all infrastructure. When they dared to reply that that would condemn the Germans to death, he replied that there was no need to worry about the most elementary survival needs of some Germans who had shown themselves to be inferior to the Slavs in combat. With Trump, things cannot end well. Better to burn Rome than to acknowledge any defeat.
