I am of the opinion that Barça will win the League on Sunday. Even in a sport as prone to surprises as football, there are some objective factors that weigh in: they only need a draw and they are playing at home, where they have won all 17 matches they have played with an average of three goals scored per game. Certainly, Madrid is the team that has conceded the fewest goals as visitors, but Barça is eleven points ahead, and the two years of absolute failure that the whites have dragged have been sufficiently exposed this week with the fights in the locker room between players, one of which has ended up in hospital with a cranioencephalic trauma (!). As Schuster said, no hase falta desir nada más"."}It was infinitely more difficult for Barça to win the League against Madrid in the first year of Tenerife (1992), when the whites even managed to win 0-2. And it was even more difficult to repeat the same story the following year. And even more difficult to repeat it a third consecutive year, whenDéporhad a penalty in their favor that would have given them the championship and they missed it.
There are those who say that, after Madrid's regrettable image during the year and this past week, the white players have the incentive to save face if they beat Barça. Perhaps so, but they will face not only the best team in the League but an alignment full of committed 'culers' who know that life has given them the opportunity to make history, to be crowned champions playing against Madrid, and, frankly, I don't see these guys wasting such an opportunity, because they have already shown (they have won three finals against Madrid in two years) that their legs don't tremble. Tomorrow, the Camp Nou opens for a difficult match that should be a Barça celebration, before, during, and after.
