BarcelonaThe communications company Mediapro has filed a complaint against Jaume Roures, one of the founders, for misappropriation of shares in a company that was part of the group, Versatil Cinema. According to the report, The Newspaper And the ACN has confirmed that the lawsuit has been accepted for processing by Barcelona's 25th investigating court. The company is said to have demanded that Roures hand over ownership of Versatil Cinema, considering it to be one of its subsidiaries. Roures ceased to be a managing partner of Mediapro after thirty years in October 2023.

The Chinese group that owns the audiovisual giant then ratified Tatxo Benet, also a managing partner, in the positions of president and CEO, marking the end of a two-year, 80-year professional relationship before dedicating himself to managing sports rights and building an audiovisual company that also included the production and provision of comprehensive services. In an interview with ARA, Tatxo Benet explained that he had no personal or professional contact with Roures. He also rejected the idea that his departure was due to a change in the company's direction since the entry of the Oriente Hontai group, which allegedly wanted to enter the betting business. "There is no corporate transaction planned, either in the short or long term, with any company of this type, nor are there any expectations of doing so," he stated in January.

Versatil Cinema is a company that has promoted some of the international films produced or participated in by Mediapro, including Woody Allen's films. Midnight in Paris and You will meet the man of your dreams, and also films like A wild ten and Paper birds. Within the group, Roures was the reference point for film production. The company's address is located at Diagonal 177-183, right where Mediapro's headquarters are located.

According to details The NewspaperIn 2023, Versatil's ownership changed with the entry of Orpheus Media, a company managed by Roures (famous for having purchased 24.5% of Barça Studios the previous year for €100 million, which enabled the club's so-called fourth lever). Although the producer was a shareholder and director of Versatil, Mediapro maintains that he was so as a director of Mediapro and, therefore, that it was a subsidiary of which he retains ownership.
