A family grew apples in the Empordà region and in 2016 decided to go one step further and make cider. Very refreshing and low in alcohol. A healthier drink, therefore. That's how it was born.Mooma, a project that, thanks to the third generation, has grown tremendously, generated a lot of added value, and has made its mark gastronomically. Mooma, by the way, is the result of merging the words Montgrí and apple. The apple orchards are located in the middle of a triangle between the Montgrí Natural Park, the Medes Islands, and the Baix Ter, and it's a fantastic place to visit. Located on the outskirts of Palau-Sator, you can discover how they make their apple-based products (which are much more than just cider: there's also apple juice, compote, and so on) or you can just stop for lunch. There's ample parking and it's designed for all types of visitors. I'd say it's a good place to go with the family.

The menu is extensive enough for everyone to find something they like. Particularly noteworthy are the dishes featuring their signature ingredient: cod with apple, onion, and honey aioli au gratin, or sweet butifarra with apple and cider. They offer three meals a day. And if you like the way they work, you can visit any of their other three restaurants. First, there's another Mooma in Cerdanya. Second, they have Sidral in Begur, near Racó beach, and finally, this year they opened Sidralet at the King's campsite in Palamós.
