BarcelonaApril 23rd is one of the most beautiful days in Barcelona, but it was a tragic day for the owners of the Molino de Pez restaurant, located at 346 Còrsega Street in Barcelona. Their kitchen caught fire, forcing them to close and undergoing a major renovation and refurbishment of the kitchen and the space. Today, they reopen, and to celebrate, they've taken the initiative to offer 500 free servings of lentils to anyone who comes.

"Thank you to everyone who has been here during this time, waiting patiently and lovingly for our return. It has given us even more reasons to come back strong," says an emotional Nino Redruello, the restaurant's owner. This love returns in two heartfelt ways: on the one hand, the Molino de Pez team wants to express their gratitude for the neighborhood's love and understanding by doing what they do best: serving food. That's why, today, Wednesday, September 10th, Redruello is offering these 500 servings of lentils. It's his grandmother's famous recipe, which was already served at Taberna La Ancha in Madrid, where this family group, also owner of the Fismuler restaurant, began operating. From a stand right outside the restaurant, open to any neighbors who want it, starting at 1 p.m. and until supplies last.

It's been a tough few months: "We closed suddenly, with a heavy heart and the kitchen silent, but with a clear idea from the very beginning: to return as soon as possible. And to return well," explains Nino Redruello. "This unexpected shutdown caused by the fire has allowed us to offer you what is essential: remembering you sit at our tables. Simple, tasty, and unadorned cuisine, designed to be enjoyed."

The Molino de Pez restaurant will reopen tomorrow, Thursday the 11th, as usual.
