Christmas campaign: these are the Sundays and public holidays that shops in Barcelona will be open
Shopkeepers will be able to open every Sunday in December and also on the Constitution Day long weekend
BarcelonaWith the arrival of November, starting with All Saints' Day, the city begins its preparations for Christmas. The streets are adorned with colorful lights, and shops also get ready to face the Christmas season once again. This also implies a more flexible schedule for shop openings, which falls under a specific exception.
Several trade associations and unions, along with the City Council, reached an agreement in 2022 to allow some Sundays to open during this period in the busiest tourist shopping areas. This year, 2025, Sunday and holiday openings will begin at the end of November and will continue until the end of the year. Below, we detail the Sundays on which shops in Barcelona will be open to the public:
- Sunday, November 30
- Saturday, December 6, Sunday, December 7 and Monday, December 8 (Constitution Day long weekend)
- Sunday, December 14
- Sunday, December 21
- Sunday, December 28
Thus, in addition to all the Sundays in December and the last Sunday in November, consumers can also count on the holidays of Constitution Day and the Immaculate Conception Day to get a head start on Christmas shopping.
