BarcelonaOf the great gallant that William Levy appeared to be in the Latin American novel Coffee with the aroma of a woman (Netflix), has turned out to be an actor with pending court dates. The Cuban-born actor explained on Monday in The anthill Something that had occurred in April, when it was revealed that he had been arrested in Florida. His arrest made headlines in the United States and Europe, but until now the actor had not explained how he had personally experienced the black mark on his record.

Motos was direct and brought to the table the fact that two months ago a police photo surfaced showing the actor's face, visibly shaken and serious. The actor who plays Sebastián Vallejo had been involved in an altercation at an Argentine restaurant in the city of Weston, Florida, on April 15, when he refused to pay the bill. In fact, he was charged with "disorderly intoxication" (consuming alcohol with some kind of disturbance), rioting, and attempting to enter private property without permission.

Despite the charges, Levy gave a version quite different from the one that had been reported on Monday night. "It's nothing, man, it's just another experience in life," he said. "I was having a few drinks with a friend, and when it was time to pay the bill, he, within his rights, thought they'd given him something else. He started arguing with someone at the bar, and I got in the way because it was best to prevent the situation from escalating again," he said calmly from the set of Ante. He recounted the scene with the complicity of the presenter: "In the middle of all this, the police arrived and they let us go, but the way they said it was completely out of place," he explained, without specifying whether it was the police or the restaurant workers who had let them go. Although he insists that he tried to mediate, he maintains that they "took" him away simply "because they wanted to, because he was already out of the restaurant." After recounting the incident, he added a final touch with irony: "In fact, this morning in an interview they told me that I'm now part of a club made up of different people in the artistic world, those who have problems with the police."

The actor ended up being released on bail and awaited trial. Although Levy has tried to downplay the issue, the magazine People has learned that the first trial was scheduled for June 4, but the 44-year-old actor did not show up, so he has been rescheduled for June 26. Furthermore, the same magazine explains that Levy's lawyer, who had shown up three-quarters of an hour late for the June 4 trial, assured him that her client would undergo an anger management program.
