The body of the Generalitat sends to the zone a helicopter, two planes and personnel from the GRAF
BarcelonaFirefighters are working on a fire that broke out this Tuesday north of Collserola, near the Canyelles neighborhood (Nou Barris) and above the Alta de Roquetes road, heading towards Sant Cugat. Firefighters from Barcelona and the Generalitat are working in the area, collaborating with six aerial resources and 16 ground crews. As a preventive measure, residents of Torre Baró and Ciutat Meridiana have been confined.
Residents of Torre Baró explain to ARA that agents of the Guardia Urbana have warned residents who were on the street to return home and close doors and windows. According to their descriptions, the smoke and the strong smell of burning can be felt throughout the neighborhood. The flames are also visible from the highest part of the neighborhood.
The fire affects an area of approximately 25 hectares of forest land within the Serra de Collserola Natural Park, according to provisional data. The fire broke out at 3:20 PM in a scrubland area, according to municipal sources, and the smoke column is "significant", although they believe the fire is not as serious as the one two weeks ago also in Collserola.
