Dies at 102 years old Gerard Piqué's grandmother

BarcelonaThe paternal grandmother of Gerard Piqué, Lina Rovira Montsant, has died at the age of 102, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. The sports newspaper has reported that the wake took place this Tuesday afternoon in Sant Guim de Freixenet (la Segarra). The funeral will be held this Wednesday at 12 p.m. at the Sagrat Cor church in Sant Guim. The Piqué family has not provided details about the cause of death. As pointed out by the Segre, Rovira made an appearance last year on the show The stranger presented by Quim Masferrer. “I will leave this world very happy to have had such beautiful children and grandchildren, I love them so much,” Piqué’s grandmother used to say.
Rovira was the mother of Joan Piqué, a businessman and father of the former Barça footballer. Joan Piqué married Montserrat Bernabéu, a doctor specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with whom she had two sons: Gerard Piqué, 39, and Marc Piqué, 34. The couple remains married after more than three decades and they have two grandchildren: Sasha and Milan, children of Piqué and Shakira.
