Weekend to take advantage of and with controlled temperature

BarcelonaYesterday, remnants of instability were still seen in some sectors of the territory. In the morning, some downpours falling over the sea brushed the coast of Barcelona and left some local showers and, even, some isolated flooding in the seaside neighborhoods of the Catalan capital itself, where in a few minutes more than 10 or 15 l/m² accumulated. They were very local and anecdotal phenomena that ended up clearing away completely.

Today, the outlook is quite different and throughout the weekend, fair weather and a calm atmosphere will prevail. We can expect two days with very pleasant and enjoyable weather, without rain and generally sunny. Temperatures will rise in the middle of the day but will remain normal for the season, with cool mornings and controlled heat at midday.

Saturday: calm and rising temperatures

The weekend will start very calmly. There will only be remnants of some intervals of completely harmless clouds between the coast and the pre-coastal area of Barcelona and south of Girona, as well as some strokes of high and thin clouds. Although a downpour may still fall in the south of the Valencian Country, the instability will also be fading away.

A day to take advantage of as a whole, with minimum temperatures that may drop a little more. Quite cool atmosphere at night and early in the morning, and even cold in mountain areas. The maximums will rise and the atmosphere will be warmer, but with the heat kept at bay and far from extremes. Many values of 25 °C to 30 °C are expected, a little higher in the southern interior of the country.

The morning mistral of the Ebro will end up leaving and the tramontane will blow moderately in the Empordà, although it will slacken as the hours pass.

Sunday: more heat

Looking ahead to Sunday, calm will be general. It will be a day of radiant sun to enjoy the outdoors. Sunny atmosphere with very few nuances. Temperatures will rise a little more and we will go from the morning chill to a warmer sensation in the middle of the day, although again without extremes and with values around normal for the time of year. Highs will reach 32 °C on the plain of Lleida and in the rest they will move between 26 °C and 30 °C.

In short, in the coming days we will have to dress in layers, since sweaters or jackets first thing in the morning will be a nuisance at midday. The north wind will stop completely.

No rain in sight

Looking ahead to next week, the anticyclone will continue to embrace us. This will mean that the sun will dominate without exception and it will not rain anywhere, and there will be some morning fog in the plains and inland valleys. On Monday, a bit of tramontana and mistral wind will enter at both ends of the country due to the position of the anticyclone. There will be rough seas north of Cap de Begur and along the rest of the coast the sea will remain calm.

No episode of rain or strong storms is in sight, beyond some afternoon showers in the north of the country during the second part of the week.

All this with temperatures that will rise more at the beginning of the week, with more marked heat in the middle of the day, but again without extremes. Between Monday and Tuesday, the highs could climb up to 33°C or 34°C in Ponent. The nights will remain cool and the thermometers will stay similar for the rest of the days.
