Recognizing projects that not only provide solutions, but also contribute to improving society, is the objective with which the FAR Awards of the ARA newspaper were born. This same idea inspires the design of the award with which the first winners for their initiatives in the technological field have been distinguished. Ricard Marfà, Art Director of the ARA newspaper, is its creator, and Sustain Awards, a company specialized in the production of designer trophies and unique awards with special care for aesthetics and sustainability, is in charge of manufacturing it.
Sustain Awards has chosen aluminum as the material. The award has a thickness of 25 mm which gives it lightness and an anodized finish that guarantees its durability.
The design is based on the logo of the awards, which Ricard Marfà has transformed into a composition that evokes the silhouette of a lighthouse. An easily recognizable image that symbolizes the ability to guide, open paths, and point out new possibilities.
The very letters of the name give shape to the trophy: the F and the R support the A, located at the top, and draw a vertical structure that recalls these coastal constructions from centuries ago. The choice of typography is not accidental. With a technological inspiration, it reinforces the identity of awards in which innovation and technology are put at the service of social transformation.
