The Litoral ring road, cut off for five hours due to a truck accident

BarcelonaA very complicated morning on Catalan roads. For more than five hours, the Barcelona Litoral ring road has been cut off due to an accident involving a truck that overturned near Montjuïc. The incident has forced the road to be closed in the direction of Llobregat. In fact, all entrances to the ring road in this direction have been closed and only the exits have been left open to clear the accident area and facilitate the removal of the vehicle, where the driver was trapped. The firefighters have been working there since 7:30 a.m.

The section affected by the accident on the Litoral ring road covers almost the entire road, with a traffic jam extending to Sant Adrià de Besòs. Freight trains are also affected by a lamppost falling onto the tracks from the ring road.

A truck on fire on the AP-7

This Thursday has been a very complicated morning on Catalan roads because a truck with frozen products also caught fire on the AP-7 in Cerdanyola del Vallès, which forced the entire road to be cut off in the southbound direction early in the morning. By 10 a.m. three lanes had already been reopened, but traffic jams are still dragging on from Santa Perpètua de Mogoda.

The incident has also caused disruptions on the B-30, parallel to the AP-7, from Barberà del Vallès. Following the accident, Traffic authorities recommend using alternative routes. In the direction of Tarragona and Lleida, drivers are asked to travel via the C-58 and the B-40, while in the direction of Barcelona, these two routes as well as the A-2 can be used.
