The builder who was renovating the collapsed house in Vilanova de Bellpuig has been located safe and sound.

The injured were construction workers who lived in the house next to the collapsed one while working on its renovation. Both buildings collapsed after days of rain. That same day, Carulla's family reported his disappearance to the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police). The police were searching for him because of this report from his family and not because of the house collapses.

The construction worker lives very close to the house that collapsed and went to the scene early that morning. Then, he disappeared. The incident occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m., and as a result of the collapse, two of the four men who were in the house were trapped. At 7:30 a.m., firefighters managed to free one of the trapped men, and after 10:00 a.m., they freed the second. It was a complicated rescue due to the risk of the entire building collapsing. However, the firefighters maintained visual contact and could speak with the trapped man, who was conscious. Finally, they were able to bring him out.
