BarcelonaA retired Civil Guard commander and two other men have been arrested for the murder of a man in January 2022 in the Barony of Rialb (Noguera). The arrests were made yesterday, Tuesday, in different parts of Catalonia, according to Efe, and reported by The World.
This same newspaper reports that the victim died from a single gunshot, fired about 100 meters away by a hitman allegedly hired by those arrested. According to the same media, the 61-year-old victim had been involved in smuggling for decades.
The man was murdered on January 25, 2022, when he was on a nearly inaccessible property in the forests of the Barony of Rialb (Noguera) and received a single shot to the heart, fired from more than 100 meters away. The investigation into the case dragged on for years until the Civil Guard and the Mossos d'Esquadra arrested the three suspects yesterday.
