Two TMB workers assist a woman during childbirth

BarcelonaA woman gave birth to a baby on Monday at the Ciutat Meridiana station on line 11 of the Barcelona Metro, according to information provided by Barcelona Metropolitan Transport (TMB) through X. The passenger received assistance from TMB staff while they waited for the ambulance to arrive. "Once we got to the station, she couldn't take it anymore, she lay down on the floor and gave birth. So I picked up the baby, put her on her stomach and covered her with a blanket so she wouldn't be cold. A few minutes later the ambulance arrived," explains Julián, a security member.
"I called security to notify the SEM, as the situation was urgent. As she could still walk, we took her to the emergency room. Everything happened very quickly and the baby was born exactly at 4:55 p.m.," explains James. TMB has publicly congratulated both her parents and her two employees.
