The Civet of La Fonteta gathers businessmen and politicians to foster "dialogue"
Conde claims the "importance of the peripheries" of the State, especially in the economic world
BarcelonaNew meeting of business leaders and politicians within the framework of the Civet de la Fonteta. The evening, organized by businessman Luis Conde in the Empordà, was held this Saturday and brought together dozens of personalities from the economic and political world, both from Catalonia and at the national level. Among others, the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa; the President of the Parliament, Josep Rull, as well as the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños, were in attendance.
Conde championed "dialogue" in a speech before all the attendees, especially in a context of polarization like the current one and in the midst of the pre-campaign for the general elections on November 29. In this thirteenth edition, the Catalan businessman pointed out that the goal of the Civet de Fonteta has "always" been to foster meeting spaces. "Dialogue leads to consensus, and that is very important in politics," insisted the president of the headhunting firm Seeliger y Conde. However, the businessman lamented that public debate is currently more dominated by "insult" than by "dialogue," which "does not contribute to increasing democratic strength."
On the other hand, the Catalan businessman highlighted the "importance of the periphery" in the Spanish state, especially in the economic and business sphere. In fact, Conde remarked that a good part of the "talent in the State is found in the periphery of the State" and recalled that there are up to 22 companies of the Ibex-35 that are established or have some kind of link with the peripheral territories of the State.
Five regional presidents
The presence of political figures has been substantial, and leaders of various political stripes and from across the State have traveled to the Empordà. Up to five regional presidents have attended: the Basque Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales; the President of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens; the President of Andalusia, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, and the President of Murcia, Fernando López Miras. Also in attendance were the former presidents of the Generalitat, Artur Mas and Pere Aragonès; the President of the European Investment Bank and former Deputy Prime Minister of the Spanish government, Nadia Calviño; the former Minister of the Presidency, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, and, among others, Iván Redondo, political advisor and former chief of staff to the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.
Regarding the Government, several ministers have attended. Beyond Salvador Illa, the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau; the Minister of Research and Universities, Núria Montserrat; and the Minister of Sports, Bernardo Álvarez, have gone to the Civet de la Fonteta. In addition, several prominent figures from the business world have attended, such as José Creuheras, who is the president of Grupo Planeta; Marc Armengol, CEO of Banc Sabadell; César González-Bueno, the former CEO of Banc Sabadell; Àngel Simón, president of the Indra group; Marc Puig, president of Puig, and, among others, Sonia Colomar, territorial director of Banc Santander in Catalonia.
On the other hand, some personalities related to the country's cultural and sports sectors have also gathered there, such as the former president of Barça, Sandro Rossell; the president of the Macba Foundation, Ainhoa Grandes; and the president of the Gran Teatre del Liceu Foundation, Helena Guardans. Some of these personalities already dined this Friday at the home of the lawyer and businessman Emili Cuatrecasas, at the Empordà Golf.
