This position has put him at odds with Pedro Sánchez's government, and in fact, some Catalan bishops have distanced themselves from him. The organizers of this morning's event in Madrid, in fact, hailed the meeting between the socialist and Argüello as a "door to hope that we can move forward in harmony, civic responsibility, and faith in a climate of political polarization." They also defended the "need for dialogue."
After the conversation with Argüello, Illa will meet in the afternoon with the Minister of Agriculture, Luis Planas, and in the evening he will preside over the institutional event for the Diada in the Spanish capital, which will take place at the Blanquerna Cultural Center.
