An idea for the political parties, now that the general policy debate is beginning in Parliament: try to reach some kind of agreement. It would be so groundbreaking, so contrary to the current, that whoever did it first would win an electoral prize.
Because you feel the political leaders are always very angry with each other, which, apart from having become an unwatchable vaudeville, is a reversal of roles, because here, elected officials, we, the citizens, are the ones who are angry, and your bad mood doesn't even solve our problems, not even getting earlier care in the public health system. We admit that the economy and technology have long since overtaken governments, but this is precisely the fundamental reason why we cannot accept that you make democracy dysfunctional, because at this rate you will destroy it by sending people en masse to vote for the authoritarian far right and saying that there are more dictatorships. In France, the new government didn't even last 24 hours; in the United States, they have had to send civil servants home; and in Barcelona, Catalonia, and Spain, will any government, ever in their lives, approve a budget again, or is that a thing of the past? Reach agreements. And keep them.
Remember why you entered politics (and if you can't confess the real reason in public, fold). Make your own the phrase that the beloved Anna Lizaran used to say to her castmates when she saw that the dress rehearsal wasn't working: "If it's done well, it's also liked."
