Intolerable insults among the Valencian people

Not content with the aggression and self-loathing that the PP displays toward Catalan in the EU, we are now witnessing a contest of cynicism from the Valencian PP toward Valencian. Now it turns out there is a great deal of rending of garments because when they ask Minister Albares why they have not requested the official status of Valencian in Europe, the minister fails to obtain it. Philology solved the answer for him: Valencian is the name that the Catalan language receives in the Valencian Country. If Catalan is official in the European Parliament, so is Valencian. He could even have quoted the definition of Valencian from the dictionary of the Royal Academy: "A variety of Catalan spoken in much of the former kingdom of Valencia and commonly felt there as its own language."
You have to be very bold: the same people (PP and Vox) who voted in June for Alicante to become a Spanish-speaking territory are the ones pretending to be outraged that Valencian is not an official language in Europe. There is the case of Paco Camps (that's what X is called), who hadn't made a single tweet in Valencian in all of 2025 until yesterday, when, to demand Albares' resignation, he stopped speaking Spanish for a day. And what can we say about Mazón, who acted offended with a "We are not a second-class community. We do not belong to anyone's Països Catalans."
Of course, in Mazón's case, anything goes, including cynicism, to forget for a moment that if there is any intolerable insult to the Valencian people, it is that he is still the president of the Generalitat, after his government sent out an alert when most of the more than two-D had already drowned.
