Orobianco in Barcelona

The star-studded restaurant is holding a pop-up for a few days.

Orobianco is a great Italian signature restaurant in the Alicante town of Calpe. It has a Michelin star and is a culinary creation by Paolo Casagrande, the chef of the three-starred Lasarte, and executed by Andrea Drago, who also worked at the restaurant located in the Monument Hotel. Well, for a few days (March 12-14 and March 18-22) they're doing a pop-up in Barcelona. You'll find them at Santaló 86, with a menu that showcases all the virtues of the country's haute cuisine, the extraordinary level of cooking that's become their trademark, and two dishes they've created especially for the occasion. One of them, the marinated lemon fish with a liquid salad and caviar, is one you'll remember for a long time. Casagrande is also with them on this visit to Barcelona, and it's a great opportunity to chat with the chef. The menu is priced at 140 euros and is served at a table of up to 12 people. A unique opportunity to enjoy this dish close to home and plant the seed for a visit to this restaurant that boasts privileged views of the Mediterranean.

The best burgers

At Fira Barcelona, until March 16

Fira Barcelona is the place where you can eat more than 25 burgers, including options for all tastes: vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free. Plus, there's a prize for eating, because the event, called The Champions Burger, aims to select the best burger among the participants. That's why the public decides the winning burger. The voting system consists of scanning the QR code on the burger purchase receipt after trying it, and then rating it. The three most voted for by the Barcelona public will be the winners, based on factors such as bread, meat, and combination of ingredients. There will also be a special category for "Best Local Burger," also chosen by attendees. The big news this year is that The Champions Burger will tour more than 40 cities between February and December. After Barcelona and its stop in Córdoba, The Champions Burger will continue its route through Almería from March 13 to 23. Admission to Fira Barcelona is free. Hours are from 12 noon to midnight. And an important fact: part of the funds raised from the sale of The Champions Burger cups, now in its eighth year, will go to various organizations to strengthen the event's social commitment.
