IMG 5696

If you are going to Palamós and are looking for a restaurant where you can taste the famous prawns, you will find many options, and a very good one is La Perla restaurant (c. del Vapor, 4)You'll find the chef duo Miquel and Estefanía, who have worked in prestigious restaurants around the world. Some even have Michelin stars, and after traveling the world, they've decided to return to El Born. In Palamós, facing the port, at the restaurant La Perla, they prepare dishes based on seafood with an exotic touch from the countries they've visited. However, the main focus is Palamós cuisine, with one star: the Palamós shrimp. Miguel and Estefanía buy fresh shrimp daily, and one of the dishes featuring them is rice casserole. Since we can't get enough of rice and shrimp alone, we recommend that when you go to La Perla, you also try the breaded scorpion fish, which Estefanía cooks with her own flour blend and which, at the table, offers a unique presentation. Among the starters, you'll also find red shrimp carpaccio, Russian salad, and bluefin tuna tartar, cured with citrus fruits. Finally, La Perla offers set menus in addition to an à la carte menu. During the week, you'll find a €27.50 menu with four options to choose from: starters, main courses, and desserts, including the fresh fish of the day or rice or fideuá (and no extra charges!). On weekends, the menu is €35, and you can even choose shrimp and crayfish dishes for starters.

The restaurant Os-kuro, located inside the Hotel Claris in Barcelona, has just celebrated its second anniversary with a menu full of successes, including mackerel niguirios and red shrimp. As a new feature, the restaurant, which is based on Japanese tradition, offers the Omakase menu, which means diners are guided by the chef's suggestions. What will they be? Pop sunamono, a reinterpretation of typical Japanese tavern salads; gyudon, a traditional dish made with rice and beef; candied bacon and pak choy kimchi; or duck with turnips and citrus sauce. Behind the restaurant is Joaquim Clos, a connoisseur of Japanese culture, where he travels frequently. He also aims to bring the culture of sake to the table, so he has designed a menu with nine options, ranging from mild mi, which they suggest as a starter, to the most intense. Pairing dishes with sake is another line of Os-kuro's menu.
