August of extra range (despite low morale)
Firagost and Llorenç allow overcoming doubts and mark the summer's quality path
VallsThe squares of Valls and Llorenç del Penedès have left a weekend that confirms the good moment of the casteller world, despite the difficulties with which some groups arrived. At Firagost, La Vella and La Joves have overcome absences and doubts with four extra-level castles, while in Llorenç, La Jove de Tarragona, La Joves and Els Nens del Vendrell have completed a solid day without falls.
Plaça del Blat once again gives confidence
The Xiquets de Valls groups arrived at Firagost with their morale a little down. La Vella had suffered two falls that had forced them to modify their plans, while La Joves also had casualties and a last-minute setback. But the Plaça del Blat put things back in their place.
La Colla Vella opened the square with the 5d9f, a demanding castle that served to regain confidence and leave behind the doubts of recent weeks. In the second round came the great moment of the day, with a 4d9sf that the pink ones completed with great solvency. The 7d9f in the third round rounded off an act of three extra ranges and confirmed the group's ability to maintain a high level despite the casualties. The pink ones finished with the pd6.
La Joves, for their part, started with a 4d9f and then faced the 2d9fm, which they managed to defend particularly well in the discharge. In the third round, they tried the 4d9sf, but with the two placed, they decided to dismantle it upon seeing that it was not quite square. The 3d9f closed the act. One detail sums up the moment of Plaça del Blat: in all of 2026, no castle has fallen yet.
A good day to Llorenç
In Llorenç del Penedès, the three groups continued to refine their immediate objectives. The Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona achieved the best performance, with the 5d8, the 3d9f, the 4d8a, and the pillar of 6. A solid performance that continues a season in which the group is particularly looking towards the 5d9f and the 4d9fa.
For their part, the Joves completed the 4d8, the 2d8f and the 3d8, before finishing with the pd7f and the Nens del Vendrell opted to continue with the eight-level towers, with the 3d8 and the 4d8, and closed with the 2d7.
