RAC1 makes history by surpassing one million listeners and Catalunya Ràdio also rises
Basté leads with a record and has 73,000 followers, while Ustrell achieves his best results.

BarcelonaA boom for Catalan-language radio and a symbolic record day. Figures. It has achieved this, moreover, without being detrimental to its direct rival, Catalunya Ràdio, which also improved its results compared to a year ago, going from 626,000 to 716,000 listeners, thus equaling its best historical figure from the first wave of the far from 0, meanwhile, 0. 386,000 listeners. The ranking continues with Cope (269,000), Onda Cero (137,000) and RNE (119,000) Jordi Basté, and his The world on RAC1, is the driving force behind this historic figure: it has added 73,000 listeners to those it had twelve months ago and stands at 774,000, thus beating its personal record. However, from the public Ricard Ustrell manages to close the gap: the EGM gives him 503,000 followers, which is 101,000 more than he had in April 2024. These are the best results for the presenter ofThe morning of Catalunya Ràdio and allow her to surpass the best record obtained by her predecessor, Laura Rosel –who had reached 466,000–, but still falls short of the 574,000 achieved by Mònica Terribas. The gap between the morning shows is 271,000 followers, which implies closing the gap compared to a year ago (then they were 299,000), but still far from the 179,000 that represented the shortest distance in the last decade between the two magazines, achieved during the Terriba era.
The rest of the morning programs on Spanish radio are far behind. Àngels Barceló obtains 247,000 listeners from SER in Catalonia, while Carlos Herrera barely 173,000 with Cope and Carlos Alsina, for Onda Cero, 102,000. Already at a greater distance, and from RNE, Josep Cuní has 66,000 followers.
On weekends, there is also a general increase. Clear path Xavi Bundó's is the leader with 603,000 and 523,000 listeners on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, while a year ago it had 483,000 and 484,000. But on the other side of the Diagonal there is cause for celebration, too, since Roger Escapa achieves with The supplement Its best records, with 458,000 and 428,000 followers, totaling 160,000 and 67,000 new followers, on Saturday and Sunday. This is the program's best result since 2018.
RAC1 is posting good numbers for most of its programs. The competition rises from 176,000 to 202,000 followers, a good record and a substantial improvement compared to the previous wave (December 2024), when it stumbled and remained at 137,000 listeners. Marc Giró, on the other hand, suffers a slight decrease: from 139,000 to 132,000 (but, again, an improvement compared to the 90,000 he had in December). In any case, the reference data is always that of a year ago, since radio is seasonal. 14/15 Clapés has grown by 18,000 followers to 96,000, but it's not enough to become the leader. In the afternoons, Clapés maintains its reign, with 365,000 listeners, improving its record from last April by 75,000 people. You say rises from 109,000 to 134,000 and also increases the Don't know, which jumps from 122,000 to 132,000 listeners. Don't get out of here., integrated into the morning show, drops from 79,000 to 66,000. The number of viewers also drops slightly. Catalonia midday, from 128,000 to 110,000, although the public channel retains its lead with its newscast. The afternoon of Catalunya Ràdio remains stable, with a slight decrease from 132,000 to 125,000 listeners, but surpasses the dip of the previous wave, when it remained at 93,000 followers. Although the format is currently presented by Agnès Marquès, due to Elisenda Carod's maternity leave, the data must be attributed to the regular host, since practically all of the fieldwork was still done with her behind the microphone. Everything costs drops significantly, from 110,000 to 82,000 followers, but the Catalonia night It compensates him, since having won an hour of programming allows him to go from 45,000 to 91,000 followers. Women and days drops from 55,000 to 45,000 and also loses listeners, the incombustible The Night of the Ignorant, from 64,000 to 46,000.
In the battle of the sports cars, it is RAC1 who scores. The Supersports beats the public channel both on Saturday and Sunday, with 183,000 and 251,000 followers (1,000 less on Saturdays, 27,000 more on Sundays), while on Catalunya Ràdio the Everything revolves sees how on Saturdays it falls from 148,000 to 125,000 listeners, but on Sundays it recovers from 196,000 to 220,000. However, the leadership on Saturdays corresponds to Sports carousel from SER and its 194,000 followers.
Less euphoria in Spain
On Spanish radio, the joy is not as widespread as on Catalan radio. Only SER, among the four main stations, has improved its results, going from 4,293,000 listeners to 4,530,000. On the other hand, Cope is second but falling: from 3,485,000 to 3,415,000. Onda Cero is also declining, from 2,078,000 to 2,050,000 listeners, and RNE joins the trend of declines, remaining at 905,000 (compared to 955,000 a year ago).
In this context, Àngels Barceló is celebrating a new triumph for her Today, which has reached 104,000 listeners, up to 3,170,000. It widens the gap with Carlos Herrera of Cope, who is increasingly far behind. overtaking which seemed possible a few years ago. Now they have to settle for 2,490,000 followers, after losing 191,000 since April of last year. Carlos Alsina is holding his own on Onda Cero, with a slight decline: from 1,559,000 to 1,544,000, and Josep Cuní, on the state-run channel, has dropped from 665,000 to 542,000.
Los 40 dethrone Flash
In music radio, the throne has changed. A year ago, Flash was the most listened-to station, with 284,000 listeners, but Prisa is imposing its rule and Los 40 regains its top spot, with 291,000 followers. Flashbac takes the silver, with 290,000 (+23,000), and Cadena Dial sees a huge increase of 44,000 listeners to 177,000. The leader from a year ago, therefore, has to settle for fourth place and 173,000 listeners, after losing 111,000 since April 2024. The ranking is completed by RAC105 (173,000, -17,000), 00,00,00,00,00,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,0000,00. 100 (149,000, -20,000) and Los 40 Classic (148,000, -51,000). Despite the change of leadership, three of the five most popular thematic radio stations are in Catalan.
Catalunya Ràdio leads in podcasts, and RAC1 leads in online streaming.
Once again, since the EGM (General General Statistics) also measures internet radio consumption, a dichotomy exists between the country's two main stations. RAC1 leads in online consumption, with 275,000 subscribers, a significant increase compared to the 198,000 it had a year ago. Catalunya Ràdio also increases, in this case from 171,000 to 221,000. SER is third, with 140,000, and Cope is fourth, with 101,000. This dominance of the Godó Group station is explained by the strong results in live listening, where RAC1 achieves 229,000 listeners, compared to Catalunya Ràdio's 107,000, Cope's 87,000, and SER's 81,000. However, if we segment the podcast menu by consumption, the public channel wins, with 130,000 listeners, compared to RAC1's 83,000, SER's 63,000, and Cope's 16,000.
