"Ecumenical martyr" of the First World War: towards the sainthood of an Irish priest?

The Irish chaplain Willie Doyle, born in 1873 and died on August 16, 1917, during the First World War while assisting wounded soldiers, has taken a step towards possible sainthood. The Irish Catholic Church is preparing the submission to the Vatican of thousands of documents to support his cause.
