From Lia Kali to Remedio de Ca la Fresca: 10 free concerts for the Girona Fair
The City Council is planning ten days of music at La Copa and the Parc del Migdia and is restoring the Plaza Miquel de Palol tent for orchestras.


GironaWith the La Mercè and Santa Tecla festivals over, Girona is already gearing up for the Sant Narcís Fair, which this year will be held from October 24 to November 2. Popular culture has gained momentum In recent years, with must-see events such as the parade preceding the proclamation or the raising of the pillar up the cathedral steps. To kick things into high gear, Girona City Council unveiled its concert program this Monday afternoon with a party in the Devesa district, rather than the traditional press conference for the media. Ten days of music are on the stages of La Copa in the Devesa district, the Migdia Park, and also the Miquel de Palol square. Friday, October 24. The Cup. 10:30 p.m.
She's one of the great international artists of our country, without reflecting on anyone. The Barcelona artist will debut the Girona shantytown concerts with the presentation of her second album: KaelisBelén Natalí will be the opening act. Born in Argentina, she has a long career in reggae and R&B music. Another woman will close out the evening: Canarian rapper Sara Socas.
Saturday, October 25. The Cup. 10:30 p.m.
The second night of concerts at La Copa will feature bands that are already classics and close to the Girona crowd. Kicking off the night is Feto, who presents A new pitcher makes fresh waterProduced by Joan Colomo, the album continues to showcase his signature garage-style mix of roots music and bar songs. The night continues with The Ludwig Band. Not alone, though, but with stellar collaborations. Girona will be one of the few venues where they can be seen accompanied by a big band made up of fifteen musicians, including Meritxell Neddermann, Tarta Relena, Alba Armengou and Eva Fernández.
Sunday, October 26. The Cup. 7 p.m.
A youthful Sunday afternoon at La Copa, starting earlier as in recent years. It'll be the turn of the poetic delicacy of the Serrasolsas brothers. Before that, the stylistic diversity of Triquell, followed by a wild finale by the Barcelona duo Svetlana, a phenomenon characterized by dance and hit songs. Sarnalona, in which they laugh at the touristification of Barcelona.
Tuesday, October 28. Mediodía Park. 7 p.m.
On the eve of San Narciso, the spotlight shifts to Parque Mediodía with a concert by two up-and-coming bands from Girona who have us accustomed to playing together: Remedio de Ca la Fresca and Minibús Intergaláctico. The former have wild and sharp lyrics, eager to stir consciences from Arbúcies. The latter offer an acid trip from alternative rock. A night to swap the shacks for Parc Migdia.
Saint Narcissus. Wednesday, October 29. The Cup. 12 p.m.
The soundtrack of the Fairs doesn't forget the little ones. Three middays, La Copa changes its image and is now called La Copeta, a space for families to enjoy a fun vermouth. The program on San Narciso Day is Rock por Xics, known for playing at other fairs. But another great program is on Saturday, October 25th at 12 noon. Bon Vent! premieres, created with the aim of transmitting the spirit of Xesco Boix and his entire musical universe to the new generations. Folk music with songs and stories aimed at children. The third day of La Copeta will be Saturday, November 1st, also at 12 noon, with Filomena, a very young group that combines music, games, and pedagogy through popular culture.
Thursday, October 30. The Cup. 10:30 p.m.
A nostalgic night on Thursday at Ferias with the unprecedented return of Without, 20 years after their disbandment. It will be at the same venue where they last performed live in 2005. Before that, Xavi Calvet, the frontman of Bullitt, the indie rock band from Sant Feliu de Guíxols, will present his new solo project in Girona, where he blends styles such as folk, Americana, and pop.
Saturday, November 1st. The Cup. 10:30 p.m.
The Terrassa-based band Doctor Prats returns to the Girona Fair with their fusion of pop, rock, ska, and electronica. They will be accompanied by La Fúmiga, the Valencian band of reference on the Catalan music scene.
Sunday, November 2. The Cup. 5:30 p.m.
Di-versiones is already one of the classic cover bands in the Girona region. They're returning to Ferias on a Sunday afternoon for a concert that's expected to be very family-friendly, with children and adults alike dancing to the anthems that have shaped our lives.
Sunday, October 26, San Narciso, and Saturday, November 1. The tent. 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 6 p.m.
In a more relaxed setting, designed for ballroom dancing, Girona City Council is restoring the tent in Miquel de Palol Square, in the Devesa neighborhood. It will be a space dedicated to traditional dance orchestras, with performances by the Maravella Orchestra, the Principal de la Bisbal Orchestra, and the Selvatana Orchestra.
Sunday, October 26. Midday Park. 6 p.m.
And we end with one of the great new features of the Girona Fairs. The Mediodía Park will host Catalunya Freestyle, the first freestyle competition. freestyle in Catalan in history. After the Glosa Combat has already established itself at Fairs with three editions thanks to El Foment (this year it moves to the Parque de las Pedreres), the City Council is betting on improvised rap in Catalan. It all began in 2021, when RAplegats organized the first meetings of freestyle in Catalan.
