The title of this piece isn't misleading at all. I called a Mallorcan friend of ours, the writer Sebastià Alzamora, and asked him where he would take me to eat if I were in Mallorca and felt like eating Mallorcan frita, arroz sucio, or roast porcella. And he didn't hesitate for a moment to make me a succulent list to dip bread in. So we're making it public in case you visit Mallorca, go often, or, even better, are Mallorcan.

We start with Cal Dimoni in the town of Algaida. It's a fantastic farmhouse right on the roadside. Eat well and at a good price. We continue with Ses Torres, in Ariany, which It has an open buffet, and therefore ideal for tents and large, diverse groups. Afterwards, we head to Es Celler. They have one in Petra and another in ManacorTempón, tumbito, frito de matanzas, pamborle... All the classics made with love.

The fourth proposal is in Vilafranca de Bonany and is Ca na Miquela de ses Teuleres. One village bar and restaurant Zero touristy and 100% authentic. The fifth recommendation is Celler Can Font, in Sineu. You can eat among old wine casks. A beautiful historic building that also houses a hotel.

And finally, one of the island's phenomenal places. This is Es Cruce, also in Vilafranca de Bonany. I'm told it's impossible to find a Mallorcan who hasn't been there. I remember a chronicle by Alzamora himself explaining how it works: the queue system and the stalls to entertain those waiting, as well as the volume of people they serve every day. A unique case on the island, perfect for large groups.
