The entity assumes the cost of 1.35 euros that users previously paid for each cash withdrawal.

BarcelonaThe Barcelona Provincial Council's mobile ATM service is now completely free. According to the supra-municipal body, starting this Monday, users will no longer have to pay the €1.35 fee for each cash withdrawal. The Provincial Council will cover this cost "to guarantee equitable access to banking services in municipalities without bank branches," it explains. in a press release.
The 90 municipalities benefiting from the mobile ATM, which serves nearly 56,000 people,They have already received official notification of the measure and the monitoring work that will be carried out during the months of April and May to confirm its correct implementation. The objective, according to the institution, is to improve the fight against financial exclusion in the smallest municipalities in the demarcation, which do not have ATMs or bank branches.
In addition to withdrawing money from any bank, the mobile ATM allows users, also free of charge, to check recent transactions and balances, pay and direct debit local taxes, change their PIN, and top up prepaid cards, among other services. The ATM visits municipalities with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants once a month and those with between 1,000 and 5,000 inhabitants twice a month.
