Without significant rain in sight, but full autumn weather

BarcelonaThe calm and sunny weather for much of Wednesday has given way to an afternoon of new cloud cover in the northeast of the country and in the Pyrenees, which during the evening and night may leave some scattered showers. In fact, it cannot be ruled out that one might reach the central coast until the early morning, with some local downpours, which is why Meteocat maintains a yellow warning for rain intensity in this sector.

Nuances in a context of great tranquility, as no major new rainstorms are foreseen in the medium term. Even so, the weather will continue to change, with little rain but with intervals of clouds that will come and go over the next few days. Temperatures will experience ups and downs and will be kept in check, with a full autumn atmosphere and cold nights.

Thursday: more clouds and cooler

The weather will undergo some changes this Thursday. The passage of a tail of a front will increase the intervals of high and medium clouds. The sky will be more variable, and even overcast at times in the Pyrenees and surrounding areas. However, no rain is expected, without ruling out traces of some light drops or a local and weak shower early in the morning in the northeast of the country.

Mind you, temperatures will drop. Minimums will fall especially in the southern half, and will only rise slightly in the northeast. Cold environment early in the morning. The drop in maximums will be quite widespread, with cooler conditions and many values from 15 to 20 ºC. Moderate mistral and tramontane wind until mid-morning in the north of Empordà and the Ebro.

Few important changes

On Friday, the north wind will strengthen again and the sun will return to dominate most regions, although some local afternoon showers may occur in the Pyrenees and in the north of the Girona regions. Temperatures will rise temporarily, but will drop again on Saturday, with an even cooler and more autumnal atmosphere.

Some meteorological models indicate that showers could reactivate on Saturday in the Girona and Barcelona regions, as well as in the Pyrenees. But this is not yet clear at all, and in any case, it would not have continuity, as Sunday would be a mostly calm day. We are heading towards a 'Castanyada' that, unlike recent years, seems to be recording temperatures typical for the season.
