Heavy rains in the Ebro and the Valencian Community, and more sunshine in the northeast.
Warnings for heavy rain and very heavy accumulations remain in effect.

BarcelonaOn Monday, we will remain under the influence of a powerful storm located in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula. This situation will generate storm clouds in the eastern Mediterranean. They will be very indirect effects of the ex-hurricane Gabrielle, which will arrive already converted into a storm and will drive humid winds from the sea towards the ground in our Mediterranean area.
Meteocat maintains a red notice Very heavy rain and torrential downpours are expected in some southern regions. The maximum danger level is 5 out of 6, which means the probability is very high. In fact, there are already large amounts of accumulated rain, which—as of 10 p.m. today—exceeded 120 l/m.2Locally, models indicate accumulations that could exceed 200 l/m2 within 24 hours (until Monday at 2 pm) at some observatories in Montsià, Baix Ebre or Ribera d'Ebre.
Monday: Showers in the southern half early in the morning and downpours in the Valencian Community
The week will begin with still uncertain weather in the south, but more stable in the center and north, where there will be more sunny spells and almost no precipitation. Furthermore, temperatures will drop everywhere, and the atmosphere will become cooler again. However, heavy showers could still fall in the south (Terres de l'Ebre) during the morning. We should also keep an eye on the Valencian Country, where the more direct arrival of the humid wind flow will cause heavy rains to continue, with records that could occasionally exceed 150 l/m² in less than 24 hours in Valencia and Castellón. Some models indicate that the entire episode could see an accumulation of between 300 and 400 liters!

In Catalonia, further showers will fall in the afternoon in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, as well as in the north of Central Catalonia, locally forming thunderstorms. In Terres de l'Ebre, it will continue to rain until at least the early afternoon.
The weather will improve starting Tuesday.
Starting Tuesday, the weather will improve in the south, with only a few minor showers. Temperatures will recover, with highs around 25°C along the coast and lows of 17°C. Inland, nights will be cool, with normal temperatures for the season.

Els Ports: 128 l/m2
