Barça seals the League with a new thrashing in Madrid
Alexia Putellas scores the 100th goal for the blaugranas against the white team (0-3)
BarcelonaFive points is what separates Barça from winning their seventh consecutive Liga F after beating them 0-3 at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium. Ona Batlle opened the scoring with a long-range shot that deflected off Rocío Gálvez and broke through the defensive wall set up by Madrid, and Alexia Putellas –with Barça's 100th goal against the white team– and an own goal sealed the match. Graham Hansen, who started after being a substitute on Wednesday, had a great game.
Pau Quesada highlighted in the preview of the Champions League duel the modifications Pere Romeu had made in the various Clásicos this season. On Wednesday, the Catalan coach surprised with Clara Serrajordi's starting position –again a starter this Sunday in the league—, but for this second match, the azulgrana coach had kept two cards up his sleeve: Sydney Schertenleib and Salma Paralluelo, who once again played as a center forward in place of Ewa Pajor, just like in the match against Athletic Club.
For their part, the white coach changed the approach and opted for a five-woman defense with the inclusion of Rocío Gálvez in place of Naomie Feller. Madrid sat deep in their own half with the aim of reducing spaces and looking for long balls in depth towards Linda Caicedo and Athenea. Barça remained calm and composed and, seeing that there were many legs in the middle, Ona Batlle tried a long-range shot that, after touching Rocío Gálvez, made a perfect parabola to beat Misa and make the score 0-1.
The 100th goal against Real Madrid
Graham –very active– was close to creating the second goal after a good individual play that ended with a cross cleared by the white goalkeeper. Alexia kept the ball, but Rocío Gálvez saved the shot from the midfielder from Mollet del Vallés on the goal line. She couldn't in the first half, but she did in the second after another great play by Graham –who easily beat Yasmim–. A goal that was special because it is Barça's 100th goal against Real Madrid (counting those scored against CD Tacón when the Madrid club had already bought the team but had not yet changed the crest and name). Alexia also scored the first goal in the history of the classics.
Barça has not stopped and has done even more damage through a cross from Ona Batlle that Lakrar has put into her own goal. An action in which Misa has not been entirely accurate. With the score at 0-3, Pau Quesada has conceded defeat and has substituted Athenea and Linda Caicedo. Pere Romeu, for his part, has made all five substitutions to distribute the minutes. The blaugranas have not eased the pace and Rocío Gálvez has once again had to prevent the Catalans' goal on the line, in this case from Salma. Misa has also been decisive in preventing a larger rout. Despite this, not even the poor condition of the pitch could prevent Barça from once again being superior to Madrid. On Thursday (6:45 PM), the third and final classic of the season. This time at the Camp Nou.
