The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Generalitat have signed a loan of 300 million euros to promote the extension works of line 8 of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) to connect the stations of Plaça d'Espanya and Gràcia by means of a 4 km tunnel in Barcelona.
