67-year-old man arrested for killing mother in Barcelona socio-sanitary center
The alleged murderer has alerted 112 about the crime, which he committed with a bladed weapon
BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 67-year-old man this Friday as the alleged perpetrator of the violent death of his mother in the Sant Andreu district of Barcelona. As ARA has been able to learn, the victim was 92 years old and the crime occurred with a bladed weapon in a socio-sanitary center. The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) is already investigating the facts.
The Catalan police reported that 112 received a call around 8:45 AM from a man confessing that he had murdered his mother. The Mossos d'Esquadra went to the scene to verify the facts, which took place in a subsidized intermediate care center. These facilities cater to elderly people and those with various pathologies, whether in long-term stays —they have incapacitating chronic pathologies requiring continuous specialized care— or in palliative care and end-of-life support units.
According to sources consulted by this newspaper, the woman was in a delicate state of health. Now, the Mossos are investigating the motivations for the crime.
