The partner of architect Josep Juanpere arrested for his death

BarcelonaThe well-known architect Josep Juanpere died on December 26 in Baqueira, in the Aran Valley. Initially, his death was attributed to a heart attack, but the judicial investigation led by the Mossos d'Esquadra has concluded that he died violently. In fact, this Wednesday morning the Mossos arrested his partner in Madrid, a 65-year-old woman, allegedly linked to the architect's death, according to sources consulted by ARA. The investigation has been carried out by specialists from the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos and remains under court seal. During Christmas 2025, he and his partner were spending their holidays in Baqueira.

Josep Juanpere Miret (1953-2025) was a co-founder of the studio GCA Architects in 1986, a firm that became especially successful in the field of corporate architecture, with large office buildings in the city, and hotels. His firm designed, for example, the Mango logistics center in Lliçà d'Amunt, as well as other projects linked to the Andic family.

They also designed the building that houses the law firm Cuatrecasas, next to the Torre Agbar, in Poblenou. They also participated in the remodeling of the Hotel Arts and built the Torre Puig 2, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. These designs placed Juanpere in a privileged position among the Catalan elites.
