City councilor Lluís Rabell has resigned from his position on the Barcelona City Council for health reasons. Rabell's resignation will take effect at the plenary council meeting in February. At that time, the current Commissioner for Citizen Relations and Cultural and Religious Diversity, Sara Belbeida, will become a Barcelona City Councillor and assume Rabell's portfolios. During this term, Rabell has been responsible for leading the areas of Neighborhood Planning, Participation and Democratic Innovation, Education and Senior Citizens, Democratic Memory, and the Horta-Guinardó district.
