BarcelonaHe modus operandi It was always the same, and the plot was perfectly calculated. They would escape from Catalonia for three to five days. They hid, sometimes spending the night in forests until they found the right moment to climb up and break into empty homes in the area. To get around, they used vehicles with duplicate license plates to throw investigators off the scent.

Once the job was done, they would hide back in the forest until it was time to return to Catalonia, where they would hide the loot in a hideout they had in a wooded area of Hospitalet de Llobregat. All this allowed them to leave no evidence of the crimes in their home and easily distribute everything stolen from the robberies.

This dynamic, however, ended on May 28 when agents of the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Civil Guard arrested four men between 35 and 46 years old, all of them members of this criminal group that was dedicated to committing burglaries in homes since December 20.00. in cash

The police investigation began in March, a joint effort between the Central Robbery Unit of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) and the judicial police units of the Civil Guard in Madrid and Catalonia. At that time, some members of the criminal group were identified, and the thread continued to unravel until, in two raids in the city of Barcelona, officers seized €5,000 in cash, jewelry, and watches. In addition, some of the stolen items were also recovered from the Bellvitge hideout.

The four members of the criminal group, whose leader already had a record for property crimes, have now been brought before a court.
