Almost 8,000 migrants have died on irregular routes in the year 2025, according to the IOM

Nearly 8,000 migrants have died in 2025 on irregular routes worldwide, as confirmed this Tuesday by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Of the routes to Europe, the deadliest has been the central Mediterranean, where 1,330 migrants lost their lives.
