Dolors Montserrat will be the second-in-command of the European People's Party (EPP). The Catalan MEP, spokesperson for the Spanish People's Party (PP) in the European Parliament, is the EPP's nominee for the position of secretary general, according to its president, Manfred Weber. She will be sworn in at the Valencia congress.
