BarcelonaThe mother of soccer player Lamine Yamal (Esplugues de Llobregat, 2007), Sheila Ebana, has been at the center of a controversial initiative in recent days. "Ebana" is the focus of a dinner organized by Jen C Events and aimed at anyone who wants to meet the mother of "one of the best soccer players in the world." The event will take place on Friday, November 7th at 7:30 p.m. at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in central London. Ticket prices range from €150 to €330. All tickets include a glass of cava and wine, a three-course dinner, water, coffee, tea, pastries, and DJ music. However, the most expensive tickets also allow you to take a photo with Ebana and sit near her during the meal. "This is an exclusive event for those over 18 that will allow you to meet Sheila" and is aimed at "football lovers, fans, former footballers, and sports journalists," the company says in the event announcement. Formal attire is required to attend.

When the event became public, fans and social media users criticized Ebana for doing business at her son's expense. Especially because, unlike his father, Yamal's mother had so far remained very much on the sidelines of public exposure, beyond supporting her footballer in important matches and events, such as at the Ballon d'Or galaAfter being showered with criticism, former soccer player Benjamín Zarandona came to Sheila Ebana's defense on the program The crossbar from SER. Zarandona explained that Ebana will attend the dinner contracted by Jen C Events, but that she isn't organizing it, but rather attending "as a guest." "They set the prices and, obviously, want to get their money's worth for the dinner," clarifies Zarandona, who acted as an intermediary between Jen C Events and Sheila Ebana so the dinner could take place.

The event—which the company describes as a Christmas dinner, although it will take place almost two months before the holidays—was originally scheduled to be held at the Nobu Hotel in Portman Square, London, but high demand for tickets has forced them to change the venue. Jen C Events expects to host around 400 people.
