What was small has become big. And the insignificant, important. Corners have moved rapidly and essentially to the center. What was judged as unreal, artificial, now becomes an unquestionable, absolute, total sentence of naturalness, of reality. Microscopic things, Lilliputian beings, are being seen as skyscrapers of humanity, of hope. But the collapse, the barbarism, the illiteracy will also arrive there. Prepare yourselves for the occupation.

Everyone who wants to know it knows it, and it is prophecy if one believes what must be believed, but you can whistle all you want if the donkey doesn't want to drink. The landing of armies of children from medium-sized cities to rural schools in nearby towns means a lot about nothing. First, many parents take their children out due to immigration in the centers (whether public or charter). Second, also due to the pedagogical models, different, divergent. Third, the escapes (they are micro, now) for reasons of work, of housing. We could say more, but the pedagogical, existential plutonium is atomically this. And the boom, boom, like someone building more bombs, can already be seen coming and heard.

Rural schools are laboratories of present-future, but above all of the time that has been forgotten. Now it has been discovered that to educate, one needs the stool of reading, writing, and thinking. Without that, we are lame, one-eyed, fallen. We have known this since the Paleolithic, but the poor education inflamed by the pedagogy of existential illiterates has told children that humanized and drawn cats and rats are assembly friends and collective free spirits of world peace from utopian caves. In the pedagogy of rural schools, one dialogues with real chickens. You learn that they go cock-a-doodle-doo (and that it doesn't mean: hello, I'm not an animal; I'm a being of light, hug me. Warning: if you annoy them, they peck) and lay eggs (which are for eating and we are not murderers for that. And yes, they come from them, not from supermarkets, and behind them are farmers, sweat, etc.). You also learn the mathematics of life: people count. And they must be taken care of. One by one. And one must watch over the little so that it is not lost and then becomes much. If you have two and you spend three, you will be left with nothing… And humanism: the little ones and the grown ones are one. And society is all of us: the elderly and the babies. It is called pedagogy of reality. But now this eternal school is flashing its turn signals.

The first convention on Rural Schools and Micro-villages this weekend has already pressed the warning button. Precisely the Association of Micro-villages of Catalonia has warned that a specific regulatory framework for rural schools is needed to guarantee their future. You can translate it: but to maintain the pedagogy of reality, it cannot be plundered, flooded, razed, replaced by the pedagogy of unreality. Of course, this means resources, money, etc. But above all, it means the new-old lesson we must study and learn: because to know is to remember.

The future of Catalonia is not decided in Barcelona. The tomorrow of the country is being played out here: 50% of the country's municipalities are micro-villages (there are 484 of them). 51% of the area (16,298 square kilometers). There are almost two hundred thousand people: 2.5% of the Catalan population. And the beating heart of existential blood is the rural schools. Because the future, of all eras, civilizations, generations, are the children. They always, always, are the tomorrow. The few children can decide the future of many children. They are the power.
